How do you gradually slow down a track?

$

As far as I can tell, it should work the same way as gradually changing pitch. On Adobe Audition CS6 on a Mac, gradually changing pitch is as simple as using the Time and Pitch > "Time and Stretch (process)" under the Effects menu, then switching from the iZotope plugin to the Audition plugin, and adjusting the beginning pitch and final pitch over the selected audio. Why doesn't this work with the time? I'm trying to slow down a piece of audio gradually, but it doesn't seem to work.

"Resampling to match device sample rate"

Hey,

Quick question. Thanks in advance.

When I play audio, at the bottom it says "Playing (Resampling to match device sample rate: 44100 Hz".

The audio I'm playing is 48000 Hz...

1.PNG

...and my speakers settings (Windows) are set to 48000 Hz

2.PNG

So if the bit rate in the speakers ("Device") is the same as the audio file, why is it resampling?

How do I lower pitch in Audition CS6?

Hi,

I'm a complete newbie to Audition in general. CS6 is my first look at it. I'm trying to lower the pitch of a clip (like making a voice deeper). However the only thing I can find is the "Automcatic Pitch Correction" effect and the "Raise Pitch"/"Lower Pitch" in the favourites menu. When applying the "Raise Pitch"/"Lower Pitch" from favourites it says "Applying Stretch and Pitch..." in the dialog box. I can't find these options anywhere. I am certain I am missing something, I just don't know what, and google hasn't been much help.

Any help much appreciated!

Question - So I tried the 30 day trial version of PS. Well I've been watching some youtube video on how to do things. So I tried to created a text, and when I hit the T symbol to create my text I can see what I typed in the layers bracket in the bottom right hand corner of PS, but I can't see anything in my text on the screen to adjust with PS.

Can someone tell me why my text won't show me my script?

punch in loop recording (with preroll)

Trying to accomplish a recording task in multitrack-mode in Audition CC for a certain portion of a sound clip and having two issues:

(1) Does punch in loop recording work at all? (For Mac users: like it does in Garage Band for instance). I found the according help document http://adobe.ly/16xfPCn but it somehow doesn't work for me. Switching on the loop-button in the transport window AND toggling to "loop" in the properties of the clip doesn't help. When I hit record, it does start recording from the playhead but runs over the end of the selected area instead of restarting at the beginning of the looped area. (The playback of the looped area works though.) Right-clicking on the clip and toggling on "Loop" doesn't help either -- though I reckon this is meant for arranging rather than recording. At the moment what I can do is: start the recording from the playhead, then stop, manually jump back to the beginning of the selection and record another time and Audition correctly creates a new audio-file "on top" of the other and in the Files window. But that's definitely not loop recording ...

(2) Is there a way to add a pre-roll for loop recordings? Musicians and voice-over recorders know that it would be overly helpful to have some sort of pre-roll in order to "catch the exact timing" for the start of the the selected area for recording. Anyone know of a way for getting this or is it rather a feature request?

Thanks for any help in advance.

How to 'Loop while Recording' in CS6

I can find how to set 'Loop While recording' (View or Sel) which was available in CS3 by right clicking the record button.

I tried setting the 'Loop Playback' by it does nothing when you are recording a track.

Currenty when I press the record button it starts recording the selected range in the track then just STOPS.

It does not return to the start and continue recording another file.

I need to continuously record multiple files in a selected range.

e.g. my vocal booth is on the otherside of the room that the computer is.

When I had CS3 it was simple to record five takes at a time in a record loop.

R6025 - Pure Virtual Function Call

After several months of problem-free AA3, I now keep getting the same message: "Runtime error R6025 - pure virtual function call" whenever I press the Edit tab.

Does anyone know how I can resolve this problem? Will Uninstall and Re-Installing it work? I run Vista. I'm not really technically minded and it couldn't have come at a worst time as I'm trying to put together my entry for the Hospital Broadcasting Association awards with my limited AA3 knowledge.

Any help, preferably using words I can understand, would be appreciated.

Audition CC export nearly 10 times slower?

So same project...same time selection same computer, same hard drives, same everything.

Audition CS6 takes just under 13 minutes.

Audition CC takes just under 90 minutes?

What exactly is it doing?  That means the whole feature we are working on would take almost 13 hours(I tested this gave it an hour and it was pretty close)

Settings are the same same drives same files etc...Whats up?  I am suposed to be testing DCP's tomorrow morning(yes I know its close in time but hence the term "test" not mission critical but still important)

Right now my only plan is to render everything in CS6 and just work in CC.

Any thoughts?

Audition 2014 - Incredibly slow mixdown vs. Audition CS5.5

I have a brand new Macbook Pro*, running a fully up to date copy of Audition (2014.2 release). I'd just finished putting together a 90-minute podcast**, and was a little disappointed when Audition estimated the mixdown would take around 7 and a half hours. I gave it half an hour before giving up.

After some googling, I thought I'd try exporting it through a trial of Audition CS5.5. It finished the mixdown in 6 minutes flat.

If anyone can tell me what on Earth is going on here, I would very much appreciate it.

**6 audio tracks, 5 running through a bus. Dynamics Processors running on each track, and a Parametric Equaliser & DP running on the bus. Hard Limiter on master track.

Removing Echo (Audition via Premiere Pro CC)

I posted in the Premiere Pro forum, but it dawned on me that maybe Audition could help me fix this problem.  Here is my post from the other forum.

I'm not even sure this is considered an echo or if there is another technical term?

I am trying to put together some "Meet the Doctor" videos and we're using a lapel mic and the room were using has no sound deadening on the walls.  There is a slight each on in the audio and I'm not sure how to get rid of it?

You can hear the echo in this clip.

We have PP CC and Audition CC so we have the latest tools, but I can't find the right one to remove or lessen this audio defect.

Thanks for any help you can throw my way,

Dave

Sample Rate issue

Upgrading to CC 2015 has caused an issue with my audio hardware settings.  I noticed it first when trying to roundtrip and audio clip from Premiere to Audition and back.  The edited audio clip just blasts static.  In my timeline setup in Premiere I am using 48000.  In my audio hardware setup in Audition it's stuck on 44100 and won't let me switch without showing an error.  I think that may be the reason for the static issues.

And settings from Audition 2015 8.0.0.192

If I attempt to change sample rate from 44100 to 48000 I get this

Exact same computer as cc 14 but cc 15 not supporting device?  Anyone else seen this or had success changing?

Adobe Audition CC - Crashing while exporting

Whenever I try to export a project, I get a message that says "Adobe Audition CC 2015.0 has stopped working" and underneath that "A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available". Please tell me if you find a solution to this or if you're having the same problem.

Movin Marker data from one file to another

I am using Audition CC on a PC. I have an audio track that I precisely assigned CD Track Markers to and I merged them. But now I need to add a vocal track to that audio. When I pull the Track (the music) into a new multi-track session, the marker data does not appear in the Marker window. I can see the lines of the markers on the waveform itself but no flags on the top or any data. How can I bring in all the marker data I previously inserted? I have to create a CD from this.

Waveform Editor Grid Lines in Audition 5.5

$

Hi,

Anyone know how to turn OFF the grid lines (vertical and horizontal) in the Waveform Editor view in Audition 5.5? I'm on a try-out version at the moment, but have used Audition 2 for years - I loved the way the display was completely customisable. The grid lines in Audition 5.5 are very heavy, and it feels as though they get in the way of me viewing the waveform properly. It may seem like a small thing, but when you're editing thousands of files, sometimes sitting for 4 hours or more at a time, these small things can make a HUGE difference!

Here's hoping!

Imported video audio is super low pitch

I use:

Windows 7 x64

Audition CC 2015.0

Using Bandicam, I recorded an AVI of a gameplay session.

If I play the raw video recording (that Bandicam created) using Windows Media Player or VLC Player, it's perfect - looks and sounds normal.

BUT

as soon as I import into Audition the audio is completely screwed up. Here's a sample I've uploaded just for the sake of this post:

AE 2015 bad video audio sample - YouTube

You can hear the audio issue I'm referring to for yourself.

The above is a clip from the video I made after imported into After Effects to make some basic color changes. The audio sounds just like this in Audition if I import the original video file (which sounds perfect if played using Windows Media Player or VLC Player).

How can I solve this problem?

How to force language (en-us)

$

Hallo,

i'm on Windows7 32bit (de-de) with Audition 3.0.1 and language strings are mixed up ('de-de' and 'en-us'). I installed audition with 'english' language (clean 1st time install) and 'HKLM\SOFTWARE\Adobe\Audition\3.0\Prefs\Language' is '0'. I also tried to remove 'de-de' folder but doesn't help. The corresponding files like 'Nonoise.xfm' are multilanguage (holding multi5 unicode strings) controlled by the host software (Audition) so its not possible to just remove locale files to force en-us output.

I'm currently out of ideas. If you know some tricks to force 'en-us' on a localized system please leave a message.

Thank you.
