How do I prevent MSVCR100.dll from crashing Adobe audition CS6?

$

all of the computers are running windows 7  some 32 bit some 64 bit .  The Microsoft c++ libraries have been repaired.   We have six copies of the program and this is only an issue on 2 of them. Here are the event log listings

anyone have experience manually editing.sesx files?

$

I assume - perhaps incorrectly? - that .sesx is a flavor of .xml file.

I want to merge two sets of automation lanes as well as panning from two different sessions.

In session A, tracks 1-4 have panning, keyframes, and automation lanes of several effects. Tracks 5-8 have no panning or effects.

In session B, tracks 1-4 have no panning or effects but tracks 5-8 do.

After opening the respective .sesx files in notepad it _looks_ like it's possible (tracks and .wavs have identical names) - and also time consuming,

Before I spend a day of my life trying this, I wonder if anyone has done this successfully in notepad or TextEdit (hey, we're dual platform here) or a more appropriate xml editor?

.sesx2sesx only seems to append, not merge, and was a nightmare for me to actually download and install. The automation in question starts from 0:00.

I know there was a similar thread about copy/paste of automation lanes but it was filled with bile.

How do you gradually slow down a track?

$

As far as I can tell, it should work the same way as gradually changing pitch. On Adobe Audition CS6 on a Mac, gradually changing pitch is as simple as using the Time and Pitch > "Time and Stretch (process)" under the Effects menu, then switching from the iZotope plugin to the Audition plugin, and adjusting the beginning pitch and final pitch over the selected audio. Why doesn't this work with the time? I'm trying to slow down a piece of audio gradually, but it doesn't seem to work.

Hey I have never had this problem before with all earlier versions of Adobe Audition. I just bought CS5.5 and tried to load the Waves plug ins I always use and they do not all load into the program. Some do load in, but unfortunatly not the ones I use most often. Any Ideas?

What Causes these tiny "Electronic Clicks" in Voice-over Recordings?

$

Hello. In my recordings of voice-overs i hear very slight "electronic clicks", which are super-short and perhaps would be not recognized by casual listeners. They appear during speech or in breaks. This is definitely not a recording of existing noise in the room, but somehow added electronically. Otherwise i am quite content with the quality of what i get. I wonder if you know about this – and how to avoid it. These "electronic clicks" can usually be edited out in Audition, but it's tedious.

My workflow and equipment:

  • USB microphone Blue Yeti + laptop Win 8.1/64, connected to power grid (it seemed to happen less on a Win XP laptop)
  1. Voice-over recording with Audacity, with voice reaching -5 to -1 dB in peaks (i tried to record into Adobe Audition, but always get a constant hiss (with the same voice volume as in Audacity), while in Audicity the voice sounds just as well, but without any hiss, very nice
  2. Audio saved as Audicity project
  3. Audicity project exported to FLAC format
  4. Flac file edited in Audition (to remove breathing, hiccups etc.)

There are lots of variables and little knowledge on my side, but perhaps on your side, so i muse:

  • Do you know which component or procedure might cause the "electronic clicks"?
  • Should i use the laptop battery-powered (not grid-connected), will that rule out disturbances?
  • Is there another software i could try to record into, apart from Audacity and Audition, that creates a FLAC file for later editing?
  • Is exporting from Audacity project to FLAC prone to create "electronic clicks", should i export into another lossless format to edit in Audition?

Thanks for your real-life experience and well-founded speculations!

Arturia Keylab 49 in Audition?

$

I just got an Arturia Keylab 49, and I can't get Audition to recognize it.Here's what I've done so far:

     - Went to the Plugin Manager

     - Clicked ADD

     - Browsed to the folder containing the plugins

     - Clicked Scan for Plugins

     -Clicked Enable All

I would think that at this point, I should see the plugins appear in the Audio Plugin Manager's list, no? There's just a big blank field there. And when I bring up the Audio Hardware settings, and go to Audio Hardware > Default Input, I would think the Arturia should be showing up there, right? All I see there is the "Digital Audio (S/PDIF) ... settings. Audition still doesn't have a clue that the keyboard or its software is present. If I arm a track and hit Record, it lays down nothing but an empty waveform.

Having Trouble Recording Skype Interview on Separate Tracks

$

I'm using the Presonus Firestudio Project Mixer and Adobe Audition to try and record Skype interviews on separate tracks.  I am positive I have all cables hooked up properly on the mixer.

Everything works fine except track two, which should only be picking up the other line of the Skype call, is still slightly picking up my voice.  So track one is just me.  Track two is podcast guest plus still me faintly.  I have track one dedicated to mic one, which is me.  And track two is dedicated to mic 3, which loops through the back on the mixer to the main outs.

How can I completely eliminate myself on track two so that it only picks up the guest?

Hi,

I,am a video editor/producer and am now producing a series of audio books. I purchased "Adobe Audition" and am impressed with the program.

As I,am a video editor, sound is "New" to me some so help here would be apricated.

I,am recording with an older actor his voice sometimes produces "Smacking" or "Gulping" Swollowing noises. I assume he has moist mouth or something like that.

Never the less he has a great voice and I want to use him but need to get rid of the noises. Any help out there.

Regards

Matt

R6025 - Pure Virtual Function Call

$

After several months of problem-free AA3, I now keep getting the same message: "Runtime error R6025 - pure virtual function call" whenever I press the Edit tab.

Does anyone know how I can resolve this problem? Will Uninstall and Re-Installing it work? I run Vista. I'm not really technically minded and it couldn't have come at a worst time as I'm trying to put together my entry for the Hospital Broadcasting Association awards with my limited AA3 knowledge.

Any help, preferably using words I can understand, would be appreciated.

Splitting Stereo Channels into seperate tracks

I have a stereo audio track which I have pulled from an AVI file in prem pro. The left channel has voice from a radio mic while the right channel is the camera mic with general audio. I need to seperate the two channels so I can use the voice audio when its needed.

So my question is how do u do this?

I'm a beginner user of AA though I have owned veris versions for some years, just never had the time to get right into it until now. I've have spent the last couple of days digging through help menus and manuals trying to solve this problem. Usually I'd use hardware to do a work around but I figured I might as well start using the software.

Any help would be appreciated...
Sorry if this is a silly noob question.

Has anyone ever ran into an issue like this, I was in the process of mixing a session and had just got done making a Unique Copy of the wav and all of a sudden I get an error message from Adobe one that I have never seen before Saying "Adobe has encountered an error [\premier2.0\MediaLayer\Src\Audio\AsioHost.cpp-635]"  So is clicked continue and then adobe just locked up on me and eventually had to force close it and of course the sessions was completely gone and corrupted and had to start from scratch!!!  Now this is a new one for me has anyone else encountered this message before?

Removing Echo (Audition via Premiere Pro CC)

I posted in the Premiere Pro forum, but it dawned on me that maybe Audition could help me fix this problem.  Here is my post from the other forum.

I'm not even sure this is considered an echo or if there is another technical term?

I am trying to put together some "Meet the Doctor" videos and we're using a lapel mic and the room were using has no sound deadening on the walls.  There is a slight each on in the audio and I'm not sure how to get rid of it?

You can hear the echo in this clip.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0By_2YLvaQba0LUg1cTZrS1kzX1U/edit?usp= sharing

We have PP CC and Audition CC so we have the latest tools, but I can't find the right one to remove or lessen this audio defect.

Thanks for any help you can throw my way,

Dave

Crash when pasting copied segment from the same audio clip.

Seriously Adobe? I can't select a portion of an audio clip and then paste that portion over another part onto the same audio track without crashing? Let me guess, you want me to just noise reduce everything so that it sounds like an echo? Why don't you pay for the 2 hours wasted for saving a file before it crashes and then having to redo everything because the save didn't actually save. Or better yet, why don't you just crash after I apply an effect and then bake the effect in so that I have to restart my entire process of going into the audio track? HMM?

Running Windows 8.1 with a 16GB DDR3 on a Quad Core I7 with an SSD. All the files are on the SSD.

Insert multiple files onto a single track, not one file per track

$

Hello,

In both Audition CS5.5 and CS6, when the user inserts multiple files into a multitrack session, they are placed on multiple tracks. (As the help file says, "The files are inserted on separate tracks at the current time position"). Please change this to allow multiple files to be inserted onto a single track.

I can understand the usefulness of the current behaviour in some scenarios, but there are other workflows in which the placement of multiple files on multiple tracks is a serious hindrance.

E.g. In this thread, a user mentions needing to insert 10,000 individual files for dialogue editing and mixing.

I also posted in that thread because my own workflow involves editing hundreds of individual files, which are single notes recorded for the production of virtual instruments.

The reason why a "one-track multitrack" workflow is useful to me is that it allows great flexibility in processing multiple files individually or at once, comparing them, adding markers, fades, etc.

It would also be useful when bringing in any audio that has been recorded in consecutive chunks - field recordings, concerts, Foley sessions, etc.

In the thread, another user suggested inserting all the files onto a single track in Premiere Pro, then bringing that project into Audition as a multitrack session. Unfortunately this creates another problem for me, because it renames all the audio with the suffix "extracted". My workflow requires me to keep the original file names, because these are used downstream when mapping the recorded notes in the virtual instrument.

Thanks for reading and please consider this for a future update.

OMF export problems with Audition CC 2015

$

Hi All,

I'm hoping someone can point me to a solution. I'm trying to export an .OMF of a feature for my sound house and Audition continues to end the process with "Unable to Open Required File".

I've tried encapsulated and referenced in my approach. Referenced generates a folder with the proper OMF name and contains what appears to be all the newly generated audio files. It DOES NOT, however, create the essential .omf file to point all those files to the right places for my sound guys.

Any ideas? I'm supposed to deliver tomorrow morning and sifting through the entire library of sound clips to find a rogue one isn't my idea of a Sunday evening well spent...

Thanks for tips.

Kind Regards,

Justin Bull

Zoom H2n Channels

$

I have an upcoming shoot where 2 people will be talking in the same shot. Ideally, I want to record 2 separate channels mono and then stereotize  them in Audition. I want to buy an h2n to achieve this but…..

Does the H2n line input come up as a separte channel from the back mics on the unit?

They say you can place it in 2 or 4 channel mode and record 2 people. One person on its line input and one with the back mics on the unit.

Will that send the line audio in to just R-channel and the other to L-chnannel so that i can separate them in Audition? or Do both inputs share L&R?
