very sluggish performance and cracking

$

Audition 6 is running very slow and is making cracking sounds, can't use crossfades etc. The performance of the program is painfully slow. It doesn't matter what sound card I use. The other day I had occasion to open Audition 3, I loaded a session and it was speedy and very fast, zipped along, no cracking or hesitations. So there is something in CS6 that is slowing me down. This is a new problem, has been fast in the past.

Thanks for any help or suggestions.

Trouble installing Audition 3.0 on Windows 8...

Hi,

Just got a new Samsung laptop with Windows 8...this is all new to me..I'm used to my old XP laptop but it was ancient.  I'm getting frustrated because the main program I wanted to use - Adobe Audition 3.0 - doesn't seem to want to install on my new laptop.  The installation begins, even the official Adobe extractor makes a folder for the program files, asks me if I'd like to install Audition, I click "Yes", it starts to install....then when I get to selecting which language, I click on "English".  At this point, the installer just disappears. Nothing.  No confirmation of anything, no error message.  I've tried this over & over...

Also I've tried to use Compatibility Mode with no luck.  When doing it that way, a box comes up that says something like "Did the program install correctly...select Yes if so, or No to troubleshoot...".  If I select "No", the window doesn't offer any solutions.  Another weird thing--on a whim I took this laptop into a computer repair place and explained what's happening.  Everyone working there had never heard of this happening.  They even called their main tech who was off work that day, and he was intrigued and stumped, having never seen this kind of an issue.  The best they could come up with was for me to re-install Windows 8, which seems very excessive to me.  I'm told Windows 8 has some "glitches", although I have no idea how true that is.

I do understand that some very old programs aren't compatible with Windows 8.  But I have heard/read multiple people say that they are using Adobe Audition 3.0 on Windows 8 and that it works fine.

I'm hoping this is something easy to figure out. I did try to search around online and here before posting this, but couldn't find a solution.  Many thanks for any suggestions or input!

Audition CS6 Wacom tablet issue

Hi,

I'm having a bizarre issue using my Wacom Intuos 4 tablet with Audition CS6. When I drag a clip around with my pen in a multitrack project, if I drag too slowly, the cursor keeps moving but the clip stops moving altogether. If I speed up, it immediately jumps to wherever the cursor is once it's moving fast enough. It's making precise editing kinda difficult.

I've had this problem on a couple of different computers. It isn't happening in Audition CS5.5 (still installed), or if I use a mouse in CS6. I've updated both Audition and the Wacom drivers.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

How do you gradually slow down a track?

As far as I can tell, it should work the same way as gradually changing pitch. On Adobe Audition CS6 on a Mac, gradually changing pitch is as simple as using the Time and Pitch > "Time and Stretch (process)" under the Effects menu, then switching from the iZotope plugin to the Audition plugin, and adjusting the beginning pitch and final pitch over the selected audio. Why doesn't this work with the time? I'm trying to slow down a piece of audio gradually, but it doesn't seem to work.

Audition CC export nearly 10 times slower?

So same project...same time selection same computer, same hard drives, same everything.

Audition CS6 takes just under 13 minutes.

Audition CC takes just under 90 minutes?

What exactly is it doing?  That means the whole feature we are working on would take almost 13 hours(I tested this gave it an hour and it was pretty close)

Settings are the same same drives same files etc...Whats up?  I am suposed to be testing DCP's tomorrow morning(yes I know its close in time but hence the term "test" not mission critical but still important)

Right now my only plan is to render everything in CS6 and just work in CC.

Any thoughts?

Won't load all Waves plug ins???

Hey I have never had this problem before with all earlier versions of Adobe Audition. I just bought CS5.5 and tried to load the Waves plug ins I always use and they do not all load into the program. Some do load in, but unfortunatly not the ones I use most often. Any Ideas?

Manually Add Plug-ins?

For some reason Audition won't recognize any of my plug-ins. I've tried all the obvious steps such as different folders, ect. and even spent a half hour chatting with an Adobe tech (who definitelly was supposed to get back in touch with me).

Is there any way to force-add the plug-ins to Audition?

Hi,

I have a multitrack session with two mono .wav files in each its channel. I need to export this as one stereo .wav file, with each of the original mono files in each its channel (left and right). How do I do this?

Thank you!

Installing CC

So I downloaded a trial version of CS6.  Loved it and signed up after a few days for CC.

Downloaded the CC manager and installed that ok.

But here's the problem; my version is stil CS6.  I can't get access to the CC version - it doesn't show up on the list of programs in CC manager.

Ok, figured I would uninstall CS6, uninstall CC manager and start over.

That didn't work.

So I went through Adobe support.  They took control of my PC (Win 7) and unsinstalled CS6, ditto CC Manager, and reinstalled.

Same problem.

Then the technician did the same again but this time ran a little utility which I think was called CC cleaner.

Same problem.

So then they gave me a case number (184439 866) and promised that a senior technician would call next day in UK business hours.  And they did - well almost.  The call came at 6-00 as I was just about to leave for the day.  Said they would call again in business hours.

Since then, nothing.... tumbleweed!  A ghostly silence from Adobe.  Got hold of support again, they identified the ticket and in effect just told me to be patient and someone would call.  But nothing.... all quiet.

This is the first time I've had to contact Adobe for support, is this typical?  I'm only trying to use the correct program that I've signed up for.  Not too difficult, is it?

It must be at least two weeks now - maybe three.  And the credit card I used for CC is about to expire - I'm thinking of letting it expire and not updating the billing info and saying bye bye.

Last throw of the dice... anyone out there can help?  Please....

AC3 support!!!

I work mostly with video and I enjoy using AA for the audio portion. It's a bit of a pain though with no direct AC3 support.

Can we have this?

On Audition CS5.5 I want to be able to monitor my mix in Mono. How do I do that?

Fortunately there's a simple way to configure the Mixer's Output section to do this:

What you do (and you can configure this however you want) is to open an instance of the channel mixer in the Master section's FX. If you want mono from both speakers, you have to modify the preset that says 'Downmix to 1/0 (Mono)' so that what happens on the L channel (70.71% = -3dB) happens on the R channel as well. Then save a new preset called 'Downmix to 1/1 (Glorious Mono)'.

How you use this is delightfully simple - just toggle the power switch on the effect! When active, it's mono, when you turn it off it's stereo again. It works pretty much in real time, and obviously you can hack it around if you want so it's both channels to L or R, rather than both.

Incidentally, the expression 'Glorious Mono' is what the BBC has always referred to it as when it comes from more than one loudspeaker.

Splitting Stereo Channels into seperate tracks

I have a stereo audio track which I have pulled from an AVI file in prem pro. The left channel has voice from a radio mic while the right channel is the camera mic with general audio. I need to seperate the two channels so I can use the voice audio when its needed.

So my question is how do u do this?

I'm a beginner user of AA though I have owned veris versions for some years, just never had the time to get right into it until now. I've have spent the last couple of days digging through help menus and manuals trying to solve this problem. Usually I'd use hardware to do a work around but I figured I might as well start using the software.

Any help would be appreciated...
Sorry if this is a silly noob question.

How to make Auto-tune with CS6? And how to lower the pitch of the beat?

$

I'm currently trying to record my first song with CS6. I used Cool edit before and people have told me that AA's way better.

However I have many questoins regarding recording effects. Here are my questions.

1. How to use Auto-tune in CS6?

2. How to lower the pitch of one instrumental without changing much of its quality?  I'd like to lower the pitch, record my voice, then increase the pitch of my voice to where the instrumental was originally. (I am trying to remix a song with Chris Brown on the hook so it is killing me)

3. What is the normal procedure of improving the vocal effects after recording? Like some kind of effect that makes your voice sound professional. (I usually make rap songs and sing sometimes, so what are the effects we should use?)

Pardon me if my questions are too simple. English is not my 1st language and I don't really understand all the terminologies in CS6.

Thanks guys.

converting .wav files to .mp3 files in Adobe Audition 3

I am trying to save a .wav file as an mp3. file.  When I go to Save As and click on file type/Mp3, it asks me if I want to overwrite the current .wav file.  When I say yes, it saves it as a .wav file.  How do get it to save as a .mp3 file?  I'm certain that there is an easy way to do this, but I'm missing it.  Any help from this knowledgeable forum would be most appreciated.

Is Audition CC available without a subscription? I'm interested in upgrading, but would like to purchase it without a monthly payment being needed.

After install, audio input is not recognized. Cannot record.

I have been using Audtion for almost 10 years.  I have installed Audition on a new desktop.  The message appears:  "The audio input is not activated.  Recording audio is not possible.  Check your audio input configuration."  I have configured the audio from the control panel.  A test reveals that it is picking up on the audio input.  In Audition when I open the equipment set up, it does not recognize any inputs at all.  Do I just need another type of sound card?  Help.
