I have an M-Audio M-Track Plus USB audio interface. The interface's digital output is connected via coaxial RCA to my receiver. The analog inputs normally receive a line signal from a phono preamp, since I transfer a lot of vinyl records to the computer to then listen in my phone and in my car.
The thing I'm trying to figure out is why Audition doesn't let me monitor the analog inputs. I can monitor them just fine when I use Presonus' Studio One Producer. But Audition doesn't allow me to monitor, although it does record the signal and then I can play it back.
The audio device I have selected in Audition is the M-Audio ASIO driver. Under audio mapping I can't select anything other than analog inputs and outputs. It doesn't have a digital output available, which might be part of the problem, perhaps Audition doesn't allow the signal to be converted from the analog inputs to the digital output. However, like I said Studio One Producer does monitor perfectly fine, so the analog to digital real time monitoring is allowed by the device.
My hardware is PC with Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bit, i7 3930k, 32 GB of RAM, Asus P9X79 Pro motherboard, and some other stuff that really wouldn't make a difference in this problem.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Sebastian
