Audition Recording Sounds Muddy

I installed Audition, went to record something, and when I played it back the recording sounded very muddy and low quality, almost as if a low quality recording had been poorly compressed.

I can record audio on my setup fine in Audacity and even SoundBooth CS5, but for some reason Audition is recording poorly, and the audio file sounds muddy and over compressed regardless of where I play it. No effects are set, and I attempted rebooting and reinstalling with no luck.

Any help would be appreciated.
