I know that there are always technical rationales for the choices made in the features to retain and drop. Unfortunately several of the features I relied on in Audition 3 were not included 5.5 Heck, I can't even open old projects without exporting them to xml and loosing all my effects, so I will have to keep both versions going (nice improvement guys - no legacy support for .ses files - real nice!!!). So what was point of buying 5.5 I have to ask myself?
I don't see any improvements, in fact 5.5 seems to have less capacities and is definitely more unstable than 3. It has crashed multiple times already. The only thing I can assume is that integrating audition into the CS UI and tool bundle was more corporately important than improving the product and retaining its users.
This puts me in an odd situation, although I have purchased the upgrade I find that I can not use it and there are no apparent advantages in trying to make it work. I will continue with audition 3 while I evaluate a replacement. I suspect that I will have to move over to Pro Tools. If I'm going to have learn a new UI might as well be that.
Sorry Adobe I think you guys made some questionable choices here at the expense of your core users.
