Adobe Audition CD Burn Issue (DVD vs CD)

in Adobe Audition, when trying to burn an audio CD via EXPORT --> Burn Audio to CD the dialog box states..

DRIVE: MATSHITA DVD-RAM UJ-845A D200

STATUS: The media found in the device was no a CD media. Insert a blank recordable CD media, close the tray, then try again

i am not sure why or what has changed but it has been successful in the past

I have a MAC 5k retina with fully loaded RAM

Adobe Audition ver. CC 2015

any suggestions please
