Okay, I edit voiceovers and Premiere Pro audio tracks in Audition all the time—Match Volume was a real lifesaver, and worked as expected consistently. Whether the tracks to be matched needed to be louder or quieter, it always performed as required.
I had to match some tracks today—only to find Match Volume has been replaced with Match Loudness. Went ahead as usual.
The resulting tracks were 15-18 db louder! Complete with clipping and noise distortion! I had to go back through each one and manually reverse the amplification. Thankfully, that solved the problem, but what a hassle to go back to manual volume matching!
Hopefully, there are settings that will allow me to use the new function...please HELP!
So far, it seems like a giant step backwards! I hope I'm wrong...
