Noise reduction not working correctly?

Hey all,

First time posting in the Audition forum. I am using the trial of CS6 for mac.

I am not a master of audio by any means, so please excuse me if this is an easy answer.

I am in Premiere editing together a movie trailer. Some audio clips with dialogue have background noise I need removed, so I used the dynamic link to bring it over to Audition (a really cool feature).

Once in a go through the steps necessary to remove some of the background noise:

I select a length of the track in which we can only hear the background noise. Then I go to Effects>Noise Reduction>Capture Noise Print.. alls good.

Then I go and select the entire audio clip, then go Effects>Noise Reduction>Noise Reduction (Process)

Hit Apply, and go back to my audio clip, but only a small section (i.e only a portion of what I had selected) actually underwent the noise reduction. The first part sounds fine, but then the noise comes back in.

Also, when I use the adaptive Noise Reduction, it seems to work when previewing in the effects window, but when I apply, it only applies itself to a certain part of the clip, despite the fact that the entire clip was selected. I also noticed that the audio seems to "slide" between the part with noise and the part with no noise.

I would think I was doing something wrong, but when I try the exact same steps using Audition CS5.5, everything works perfectly. I just can't use the dynamic link which is a huge pain. It's just weirding me out that it's not working correctly in CS6.

Has anyone experienced this, or maybe have any solutions?

Best,

Dan
