Adobe Audition: Help with Paste Hiss in audio track

Hey guys, this may be a novice question but hey, im a novice. I dont have a whole lot of experience with using audition but im finding myself needing to use it on a project im working on. Im trying to keep an end to a sound clip going for a certain amount of time so i was copying it and pasting it onto the back end of my sound wav. Only thing is, every time the time indicator hits the newely pasted sound, it has a redundant hiss to it so it sounds copied... is there anyway to get around that? i have tried things like DeClicker but nothing seems to be producing what i need. Anyone have any tips for me so it sounds like a smooth transition from one pasted clip to another? It also seems like the pasted clips get louder as the time idicator gets closer to the end of my sound wav.
