Error 1: Failed to Install

Howdy, I'm new to the forums and the Adobe community but I have been using Adobe programs since CS4 and have recently made the switch to CC a few weeks ago.

 

I only downloaded Audition so I thought this would be the place to post this query.

 

When I got CC everything went smoothly and installed without a hitch, however, after a few weeks of not using it, I went back with another project only to discover that all of the CC files went missing off of my computer, as in, no trace, none at all. I still have flash player for the internet but that' s it.

 

When I went back to reinstall CC, I downloaded it and all the files seemed to transfer, but when I would go to installation manager and hit install, everything looked like it worked, it would show the progress bar and everything, but when it "finished" a pop up would appear saying "Error 1: failed to install".

 

I contacted support and this is what happened next

  Mark: ok, so I downloaded it from that link and now I have a folder marked "application manager 9.0", it has a setup.exe that I pressed but everytime the progress bar finishes I dont see anything new.
  Mark: I searched in the search programs
  Naveen: Please install it by clicking on setup.exe
  Mark: i tried again, after the progress bar disappeared after it finished downloading nothing happened.

  Naveen: Please download the Adobe uninstaller and uninstall the CC desktop app

  Mark: ok
  Mark: it did it but there's a message window that says "Uninstallation of Creative Cloud desktop completed with errors"

  Mark: every time I look for adobe programs even after "installing" them I can't find anything.
