I've seen this question come up a bit in forum searches, but don't really see any obvious or precise answer:
Is the waveform view the only way to apply precision volume envelope work mid-track? It seems like a no-brainer to me – admittedly a novice – that there should be some way to do non-destructive fade work mid-track, i.e. volume envelopes… most basically what i'm trying to do is have a song fade out while some a spoken word track comes in, and then keep the song volume consistent during the spoken word, and then have it rise back to 100 percent volume when the vocals end. I've tried doing this through the razor tools but still can't accomplish smooth volume transitions in this manner.
Would appreciate if anyone could point to some precisely instructions on how to do this. It seems like it would be overly tedious to do all the work in waveform view.
