Saving the Effects Rack and Range Markers

I'm trying to work out the best way to edit commentary non-destructively. But there are problems. I've been doing this:

  1. Opening the commentary as a Waveform.
  2. Breaking it into segments (sentences), marking the beginning and end of each sentence, then converting to a Range and naming it.
  3. Saving the Ranges via the Markers menu.

I end up with separate sound files for each sentence which I can import and move around in Premiere. However, if I apply Effects via the Effects Rack, the Rack isn't saved. To overcome that problem I read in another post that I should be using Multitrack. I tried that, but I don't know how to import/transfer/copy the Ranges from the already marked Waveform file to the new Multitrack version. The markers are there, but they do not appear in the Markers Panel.

How do I import Ranges from a Waveform file to a Multitrack file?
