Audition is quite buggy.

So I'm new to Audition and honestly, signed up for Creative Cloud primarily for it (I do intend to use Premiere Pro and Photoshop in the future as I've used them before with decent results).  I'm trying Audition for one reason: audio recording as a replacement for GarageBand, since I'm no longer an Apple computer owner and don't plan to be one again as they keep soldering components.

My issue is, Audition is buggy as all get out.  It seems to require a restart (I'll call it "reboot") of the app every time something in the environment changes.  If you switch headphones, it won't properly output to them until you reboot the app.  If you switch microphones - reboot the app.  If you change microphone settings - reboot the app.  Not only that, it squawks about silly things until you - wait for it - reboot the app.  Things like "sample rates don't match on audio input and output", etc.

Frankly I'm at a loss as to why it's so metrosexual about things.  In Garageband, you add a track, you add a mic, and you go to work.  things like the effects are too granular and have no clarity as to how to tune certain settings at a high level.  For example, "Reverb" is a very simple thing.  You either have it, have a little of it, or have a lot of it, evidenced by the "depth" of the sound.  So why am I adjusting 20 different things just to affect reverb?  Makes no sense.
