Is this export speed normal?

I performed the following tasks:

1. Import 3 second 96 kHz/24 bit audio clip from Zoom H4n into Premiere Pro.
2. Right click, edit in Audition.
3. In audition, create multitrack from extracted wav file.
4. In multitrack, duplicate wave to two additional tracks, apply Pitch Shifter to those tracks using "high precision".
5. From the Multitrack menu, choose "export to premiere pro".

The render time for this 3 second export is about 1.5 hours on a fast, multicore CPU. Is this normal? It seems very long for a 3 second clip. Is it because the clip is 96 kHz/24 bit? If it is normal, can anyone suggest tips to speed it up?
