If I put a compressor on a pre-fader insert, does it work on the signal after the volume envelope applied to the clip? I guess another way to put this question is this: Does the volume envelope applied to a clip occupy the same place in the processing chain as the track volume? I've studied this diagram for a while, and I think the answer to my question is yes, but I'd like some confirmation.
